Deciding between two players should involve more than their points so far. One may have the better recent record, but the other could have a stronger role, an easier fixture or a scoring profile that suits your league.
Projected Points add that forward-looking context to Top Four Fantasy. You will see them labelled proj for an individual fixture and 3GW proj for the current Gameweek plus the next two. They are designed to support your decisions, not make them for you.
A form guide built for your scoring model
Each projection starts with the player's last four appearances in the same competition. TFF looks at their typical minutes and per-90 output, adjusts that recent picture for the upcoming match, then runs the projected performance through the relevant TFF scoring rules.
That final step matters. The same player can have a different proj in Classic, Balanced and Analytics because each model rewards football actions differently. It is not one universal number placed across every league. The estimate reflects the scoring model you are using.
One fixture or the next three Gameweeks
The proj number estimates a player's score in a particular fixture. If the player has 2 fixtures in a Double Gameweek, both can contribute. 3GW proj adds together their remaining fixtures across the current Gameweek and the next two, giving you a quick view of the short-term schedule.
You can sort the Player Pool and the 2026/27 Draft Lab by 3GW proj, then open a player's Research Profile for the fixture-by-fixture view. Before kickoff, Matchup pages also show projected team totals and a proj beside each starter. Once a fixture begins, actual points take over, with the original projection retained beneath the live player score.
Use projections to improve close decisions
At the draft, 3GW proj can help separate players with similar rankings by showing who has the better immediate outlook. It does not replace Performance Rank, positional scarcity or squad balance. It gives you another useful lens when the choice is close.
During the season, sort the Player Pool by 3GW proj to find players whose next few fixtures deserve a closer look. Before setting your XI, compare the fixture projections in each player's Research Profile. A useful number should prompt a better question: are the minutes secure, is the role changing and does the player offer more than one route to points?
What the number cannot know
Proj is an estimate, not a guarantee. It uses recent minutes rather than predicting the confirmed starting XI, so a high number does not promise that a player will start. Injured or suspended players receive a projection of 0, while players with fewer than 2 qualifying appearances display a dash and Not enough data.
The figures update automatically as fixtures and availability change, but they are not a live team-news feed. A doubtful player may still carry a normal projection until their status is confirmed. New signings and other small samples also need more judgement, so always check availability and the latest football news before committing to a move.
A guide, not an autopilot
Projected Points do not set your lineup, decide waiver claims, value trades or control bot managers. They also do not forecast an entire season. Their job is narrower and more useful: turning recent form, upcoming fixtures and your scoring model into a consistent short-term comparison.
Used well, proj will not remove uncertainty from fantasy football. It will help you understand the decision in front of you and spot when the obvious choice may not be the best one. Try projections in Draft Lab, switch between the scoring models and see how your next draft board changes.
