Maldini's scoring run gives this shortlist its strongest attacking case, but the other decisions require a different lens. Nuno Tavares offers attacking involvement from defence, Jacobo Ramón needs to be assessed beyond one team result, and Caprile only helps if goalkeeper cover is a real need.
These are GW7 pickup choices following GW6 of 2026/27. TFF's sample ownership figures do not establish availability in your league, and roles are forecasts from recent use. A strong 4–6-manager squad can pass.
Daniel Maldini: Priority attacking claim
Maldini is finding ways into scoring positions from the left and the No 10 area. His four-game scoring sequence is the football reason to investigate, rather than a name to collect because a percentage suggests he might be available. For this Classic shortlist, that attacking involvement puts him first when you need an option beyond your current regulars.
Expect regular involvement if recent use continues, but allow for him coming off before the end. His GW6 appearance lasted 69 minutes, within a wider record of 438 across six games. A last-three Classic average of 7.7 supports the interest; it doesn't mean the goals will continue at the same rate. Assess whether the role helps you even when the scoring run stops.
- Fixtures: Monza (A), Bologna (H), Roma (A). Consider the whole run, including both away matches.
- League size: Priority consideration in 8–12; compare carefully with stronger options in 4–6.
- Claim tier: Top priority here for an attacking improvement.
- Drop: An expendable attacking reserve whose involvement or practical use has faded.
- Risk: The scoring sequence can end, with substitutions limiting further opportunities.
Nuno Tavares: Solid defensive claim
Nuno's appeal is that the Lazio defender can contribute to attacks. His TFF card records one goal and two assists, with two shots per 90 minutes. That gives Classic managers a reason to look beyond simply counting defensive appearances, without expecting another attacking return to arrive on demand.
The minutes need care. An opening 12-minute appearance makes his season involvement look thinner than the subsequent run, but the latest outings of 84 and 75 minutes still show substitution risk. A regular defensive start looks plausible rather than guaranteed. He is a medium claim, with Juventus away an awkward starting point.
- Fixtures: Juventus (A), Parma (H), Sassuolo (A). The away opener encourages restraint.
- League size: Useful in 8–12; smaller leagues can keep stronger existing alternatives.
- Claim tier: Medium priority, not an automatic first claim.
- Drop: A seldom-used rotation defender, preserving the cover your lineup needs.
- Risk: Early removal can limit both defensive involvement and time to produce an attacking return.
Jacobo Ramón: Minutes-led claim
Como's Ramón has a different Classic case. His TFF card shows one goal and one clean sheet, so there is little reason to assume a succession of high-return defensive afternoons. The stronger foundation is the six complete appearances: he is giving managers playing time rather than asking them to guess when a bench defender might feature.
That makes a regular start and substantial minutes a reasonable expectation if recent use continues. His last-three Classic average of 7 explains the interest, but weigh it against a wider average of 4.8. He is useful when the outgoing defender offers little credible involvement. If your current cover is productive, you can pass.
- Fixtures: Fiorentina (A), Sassuolo (H), Torino (A). Two away matches frame the home game.
- League size: Mainly 10–12; selective in 8. No need to force the move in 4–6.
- Claim tier: Medium for a clear cover upgrade; otherwise wait for free agency.
- Drop: An expendable rotation defender, retaining required positional cover.
- Risk: Full matches do not guarantee goals, clean sheets or the higher recent average.
Elia Caprile: Goalkeeper free-agency option
Caprile's saves against Juventus are a reason to review your goalkeeper situation, not a reason to create a new problem by carrying an unnecessary spare. The useful question is whether a Cagliari goalkeeper with regular involvement solves something your current squad lacks.
He has completed six full appearances, supporting an expectation that he continues as the starting goalkeeper, though future selection is never certain. His Classic average of 6.3 gives the decision some context. Save opportunities will change with opponents and match events, so don't buy one busy performance as if every game will look the same. His appeal depends on an actual goalkeeper need and the quality you would release.
- Fixtures: Monza (A), Bologna (H), Roma (A). Check the away games before making a short-term addition.
- League size: Mainly 10–12 or a genuine gap in 8; well-covered smaller leagues can pass.
- Claim tier: Wait for free agency unless an immediate goalkeeper shortfall warrants a claim.
- Drop: A redundant goalkeeper or unused reserve, preserving positional cover.
- Risk: Variable save workload and the opportunity cost of using another squad place on goalkeeping.
The decision
Maldini is the strongest claim for an attacking need. Caprile is the best free-agency option if available and you need goalkeeper cover; otherwise keep the squad place. Ramón remains the steadier minutes-led defensive fallback. Review how waivers and free agents work, then check your league's player pool before releasing anyone.
