Serie A GW7 Balanced TOTW: Nine saves

Nine saves put a goalkeeper above a hat-trick scorer in this week’s selection. Around them, midfielders combined creation with tackles, while two defenders earned their places without a goal or assist. There was more than one route into this Balanced XI.

The official team totals 191.5 points for GW7 of TFF’s simulated Serie A 2026/27 season. This review uses the platform’s canonical figures and supplied season totals, rather than real-world match reports.

Nine saves lead the defensive contributions

Napoli provided the opposition for Filip Stanković, whose nine saves across 90 minutes accompanied the selection’s highest return of 22.5 points. That is a substantial goalkeeping workload, but one week cannot tell us whether it will recur. His 58.5 season points across seven appearances average roughly 8.4 per outing. The existing total gives him a contribution to assess beyond this match; the latest haul is still a sizeable spike, not a new weekly expectation.

Elsewhere, Nuno Tavares supplied an assist, three key passes and three tackles over 90 minutes at Juventus for 16 points. One goal and three assists across seven appearances support recurring attacking involvement alongside his 61.5-point total. Leonardo Balerdi reached the same weekly score against Genoa through a full match featuring five tackles, without scoring or assisting. His 38 points across five appearances contain no attacking returns at all. There is a clear route beyond goals here, but 16 points remain well above his 7.6-point average.

Two forwards bring different goal records

Two goals and an assist helped Gustavo Varela collect 19 points against Cagliari. He registered two shots on target and two key passes during 81 minutes, combining finishing with supplying others. Six goals in six appearances give the scoring return a wider foundation, with 64.5 season points averaging roughly 10.8 per appearance. This was his first assist, however. The goalscoring record is the stronger signal; a three-involvement outing remains an especially productive week.

Antonio Raimondo went one goal further against Sassuolo, recording a hat-trick and four shots on target across 90 minutes for 18 points. Seven goals in seven appearances support an established scoring threat, rather than a player emerging from one isolated performance. Still, three of those goals arrived here. His 56-point season averages eight per appearance, so neither the hat-trick nor the points haul should become the baseline. Both forwards have repeated scoring evidence, without evidence that this week’s finishing can simply be rolled forward.

Midfield combinations need different verdicts

A goal, an assist, four key passes and five tackles gave Adrien Rabiot several ways to contribute against Atalanta. His 18.5 points came over 90 minutes, with a shot on target completing a varied line. Four goals and three assists across seven appearances make direct attacking involvement a recurring part of his season. The 64-point total also provides a broader record, although this particular combination of attacking returns and tackles should still be treated as a strong individual outing.

Maxence Caqueret matched the four key passes and five tackles at Fiorentina, adding an assist and a shot on target during a full match for 17.5 points. That is useful Balanced involvement across creation and defensive work. The season comparison is much less settled: this was his first assist in six appearances, with no goals and only 24 points in total. Most of his season points arrived in this Gameweek. It is a performance to investigate, rather than enough evidence to declare a lasting improvement.

Bologna and Inter offer contrasting returns

A goal helped Tommaso Pobega earn 17 points against Inter, with three key passes and three tackles adding activity beyond the finish. He played 76 minutes and registered one shot on target. This was his first goal across six appearances, with no assists and 29 season points. The mixed contribution explains the interest in his week, but the season record makes it a spike until further evidence supports a change.

For Manuel Akanji, 15.5 points came from 90 minutes featuring four tackles and two key passes against Bologna, without a goal or assist. His season contains just one assist and no goals, yet totals 55 points across six appearances. That gives his contribution beyond direct attacking returns a stronger established foundation. The weekly score still exceeds his roughly 9.2-point average; useful season output and repeatable 15-point hauls are different claims.

Creation matters in Parma and Torino's meeting

Rafik Belghali supplied two assists, two key passes and four tackles during 73 minutes at Parma, earning 16 points. His three season assists across five appearances show some attacking contribution before this week, but two came here. The latest haul also accounts for more than half his 26.5 season points. There is clear creative upside in the record, with substantial uncertainty about its frequency.

For Parma, Adrián Bernabé earned 15.5 points through an 80-minute contribution featuring six key passes, three tackles and a shot on target. He did so without scoring or assisting, as throughout his five-appearance season. Creation and defensive involvement make this an interesting Balanced performance, but nearly half his 31.5 season points came in this outing. The activity deserves attention; the season evidence doesn’t yet establish it as his normal level.
